he union of Shakti and Shiva I have known on the level of the universe, feeling that cosmic orgasm explode in waves of pure ecstasy and pure joy. When my kundalini was rising through my body like a volcano I had visions and ancient memories of being Shakti, making love with Shiva, watching universes being conceived in the transcendent bliss of the cosmic orgasm. I watched universes explode and implode, created and destroyed with the Divine Lover of my Being at my side.
The union of Shiva and Shakti is as George Feuerstein writes in "Tantra: The Path of Ecstasy", "the seamless continuity of Consciousness and Power within the one and same Reality." He also writes, "...many Neo Tantrics in the West look upon Tantra as a sexual discipline promising pleasure beyond all expectation, mostly in the form of prolonged or multiple orgasms. Neo-Tantrics seek to emulate the divine couple but typically forget that union between Shiva and Shakti is transcendental and therefore also asexual. The fruit of their union-and hence also the goal of Tantra Yoga-is not bodily orgasm, however overwhelming, but perpetual bliss far beyond anything the human nervous system is capable of producing."
Yes, better orgasms, healing of our bodies, mind, and emotions, greater sensuality is possible with following Tantric practices. The larger purpose of Tantra is to make us remember we are Gods and Goddesses. We are all One. We deserve to know and express radiant bliss in our lives.
I can speak from personal experience how bliss can be beyond anything the nervous system is capable of producing. I can see how Tantric students can begin to know bliss by practicing sacred sexuality but it is only the beginning, not the end. I would say Neo Tantra brings the Blissful Union of Shiva and Shakti to the level of the body and the world but there is so much more! Just as the transcendent, bliss wave of cosmic consciousness runs through the universes it can be found reflected in our bodies. Neo Tantric practices in the west can be door openers to this level of bliss. I would point out that human sexual desire for union with each other is only a reflection of the divine cosmic desire the Self has for union with each of our souls. That power and energy of desire on a cosmic level is the God/dess looking for us, to become One with us. The Universe aches with desire to love and join with us all.
It is my hope that each of you will come to know the bliss of being seduced by the Divine, to surrender to the embrace of the Divine Lover. When this happens it becomes easier to love this world more and more.
